Routes

Check out the great cycling routes Barrie & Area has to offer. Click on each marker to read more about the building, artifact, or location. All of these routes can be done at your own time and pace and all are self-guided. Don’t forget your helmet!

Local Routes


Innisfil Short Cycling Route:

A scenic 22km ride that is great for casual cyclists and families looking to experience the Lakeshore of Barrie and the Northern region of Innisfil. Starting at the Allandale Go Station you have the chance to experience Tollendale Beach, scenic back country roads, and The Barnstormers Brewing Company.

Northern Barrie Cycling Route:

A short 24km route that makes its way around the North end of Barrie. A great distance for casual to advanced cyclists who are looking to spend a great day exploring the region. Located on this map are some popular spots to take a break such as The Farmhouse, Pie Pizza and Flying Monkeys Craft Brewery.

Oro Medonte Cycling Route:

A good mid sized route, at 45.9km the Oro Medonte Road, is great for casual to advanced cyclists. The route loops into Oro Medonte, Midhurst then back into Barrie. Located on this map are some convenient food and drink options such as The Farmhouse and The Flying Monkeys Craft Brewery. An image sample road view is shown on Line 4.

Heritage Barrie Cycling Tour

Discover the history of Barrie by bike on this 11km self-guided tour of some of the most significant landmarks in the area. Explore the downtown, waterfront, historic buildings, court house, and grand homes. You’re guaranteed to learn something new and have fun (and exercise) while doing it!

Barrie Art Tour by Bike

Hop on your bike and experience the beautiful art that Barrie has to exhibit. From the 26,000+ works of art at the MacLaren Art Centre to the individual art galleries, this 13km self-guided cycling tour will have you in awe. Start at your hotel on Hart Drive and make your way through downtown and the east end of Barrie to make sure you don’t miss a thing!

Expert Routes


Local Pro: Peter Disera

Get in gear as you try and complete National Champion Peter Disera’s 86.9km warm-up route. This route starts at the Allandale Go loops into Oro Medonte, Horseshoe Valley, and Midhurst.

Local Pro: Will Elliot 

Try your hand at an 82.8km pro route developed by international rider Will Elliot. This route combines the straight scenic roads around Innisfil with the stretches of back roads in Thorton.

Pie to Pie

Start at PIE Wood Fired Pizza Joint in Downtown Barrie and fuel up with your favorite pizza pie on the menu. Work it off as you adventure your way 56km from Barrie to Collingwood, working up your appetite again. Arrive at PIE Wood Fired Pizza Joint in Collingwood, just outside of Blue Mountain, and try whatever you didn’t have room for in Barrie. And really, how can you resist? …Who doesn’t love pizza? (Although both PIE locations do offer something for non-pizza lovers too).
